David Millar wins the Paris-Nice prologue

Great David Millar wins the Prologue. SAUNIER DUVAL-PRODIR, today´s best team

SAUNIER DUVAL-PRODIR´s time trialist David Millar grabbed the first victory of the 2007 UCI Pro Tour. He took the Prologue of the 65th edition of Paris - Nice, a time trial set over a 4.7km course in Issy-les-Moulineaux. The opening stage of the Race to the Sun developed in excellent weather conditions over a relatively short distance featuring a steep slope halfway through. David rode as if he was making a real chasing effort, and all SAUNIER DUVAL-PRODIR men performed well.

First it was Jesús del Nero who attacked, defining the first part of the race. Then, Francisco Ventoso sped up to hold third position for most of the race, followed by another man in yellow, Remmert Wielinga. In the end, these two riders came in 7th and 8th, respectively. Millar edged out young Czech rider Roman Kreuziger (Liquigas) and basked in victory, winning the first prologue of the UCI Pro Tour season and contributing to SAUNIER DUVAL-PRODIR´s lead of the Teams Classification.
