Reed Takes San Diego Supercross

Sun Valley, ID - Scott Motorsports would like to congratulate Chad Reed on his second supercross win of the season. Reed has made it clear that he loves racing in San Diego, taking his heat and the main event with mistake-free racing and fast laps.

In the main event, Makita Suzuki's Ivan Tedesco took the holeshot, but Reed quickly snatched the lead. Keeping with recent tradition, Monster/Kawasaki's James Stewart moved in right behind Reed, setting the stage for yet another one-on-one battle. Reed kept Stewart at bay until the scrub artist took over the lead in a rhythm section. Reed stayed close with fast cornering and consistency. Then, mid-way into the main, Stewart took a corner too wide and clipped a toughblock over the finish line double, sending him over the bars and into the face of the next jump. By the time he got his bike situated, he was out of the top ten. Reed took advantage and did not look back.

The win puts Chad Reed just 12 points off of the lead in the Amp'd Mobile AMA Supercross Series standings.
