Besides the challenging race course, the athletes had to fight the entire day against the rain. Brader came out of the water in 85th position. Then he boosted on his new PLASMA 2s and in Transition Two he was already ninth overall. But not enough! With his MAKANI running shoes he finished just off the podium and was more than happy with his first IRONMAN result at pro level. You can see the young German triathlete participate in Kona on Oct 11 at the IRONMAN World Championships.

Sybille Matter

Scott signs Ironman Normann Stadler http://scottusa.com/news/running/1411/scott_signs_ironman_normann_stadler Wed, 02 Jul 2008 0:21:53 -0600
Scott signs Ironman Normann Stadler

Normann Stadler
, winner of two Ironman World Championships in Hawaii (2004 and 2006), has joined the Scott International Team. The 35 year-old top athlete and captain of team Dresdner-Kleinwort feels confident and happy about his relationship with Scott: “The new partnership and collaboration with Scott was an important move and will be a huge motivation for the upcoming season,” said Stadler.

Scott will be able to support Stadler in the best way regarding products and communication. In setting itself apart from Stadler’s existing partners, Scott stands by its main philosophy of Innovation-Technology-Design, which translates to hi-end products and a professional image.

After launching the new Plasma2 to the media two weeks ago, Scott is proud that they will see competitor Normann Stadler on the new bike in the near future. The sport’s most aerodynamic bike will work in tandem with Normann’s incredible cycling skills. Still the holder of the fastest bike split in Hawaii (recorded in 2006), he’s looking forward to going for a new record on the Plasma2 this year.

To guarantee direct power transfer to the Plasma’s pedals on the cycling portion, Scott also supports athletes with Scott bike shoes and for the last discipline in triathlon, Scott running shoes. Performance and comfort are guaranteed by Scott bike and running shoes.

At the upcoming European Championships, Ironman Frankfurt on July 6, top athlete Stadler will already be competing on Scott products. Have a look at the course and get more information about Ironman Frankfurt at http://www.ironman.de/

MAKANI and Xtenex at ISPO Winter '08 http://scottusa.com/news/running/1112/makani_and_xtenex_at_ispo_winter_08 Wed, 30 Jan 2008 0:56:52 -0700 We know that MAKANI is Hawaiian for “gone with the wind”. The carbon technology of the dynamic transition midfootbridge makes this one of the fastest, lightest shoes on the market. But what happens in the transition zone after cycling? You are even faster with the Xtenex Lace System which we include with every pair as a second lace option for triathletes or if you're just fed up with lacing your shoes again and again. Triathlon Gear rocks IRONMAN Hawaii 07 http://scottusa.com/news/running/771/triathlon_gear_rocks_ironman_hawaii_07 Wed, 21 Nov 2007 8:10:52 -0700

What is the best lab for a company to test its triathlon gear? For SCOTT, it is the 2007 IRONMAN World Championships in Kona, Hawaii, where some pros and age groupers took the oppurtunity to perform in our 2008 Triathlon-Collection. Now, we believe more than ever that we have choosen the best fabrics and perfect cut for the best performance you can get.
Unfortunately, SCOTT TRI TEAM member Cameron Brown from New Zealand couldn`t finish the race, as he succumbed (like many other pros) to stomach problems.
Germany's Chris Brader (pictured) earned third place in his age group and placed 38th overall.
Congratulations and thanks for the inspiring testing. The Triathlon-Collection will be available in stores beginning January 2008.
