Pro triathlete Linsey Corbin signs with SCOTT Bicycles
Corbin set to showcase her new Contessa Plasma at Ironman Arizona
SCOTT Bicycles is pleased to announce a sponsorship partnership with professional triathlete Linsey Corbin. Linsey Corbin will race and train on Scott Contessa series bikes throughout the 2008 season.

“We are confident we can help Linsey improve her bike split aboard the Contessa Plasma, and intend to do our best to help her realize the goals she has set for this season,” commented Adrian Montgomery, Marketing Director at SCOTT Bicycles. “The triathlon discipline is not only about aerodynamics on the bike leg, it’s about total performance. The Plasma offers the highest vibration dampening available, due to our CR1 carbon process, which reduces fatigue and leaves muscles fresher for the run. This is an attribute which we mean to spread the word about via athletes like Linsey, who can tell you first hand the merits of the Plasma design.”

Linsey Corbin, formerly Linsey Pickell, has made a big impression in just two seasons as a full-time professional triathlete. In 2007, she had a breakthrough season, winning Baja 70.3 and the Vancouver Half-Ironman. She added impressive top-ten finishes at California 70.3, Wildflower and the Columbia Triathlon. Corbin is considered a long distance specialist and proved her merit by finishing fifth at Ironman Lake Placid in 2007. A nagging hip injury forced her to DNF in last year’s Ford Ironman World Championships but she has come back even stronger in 2008 and will toe the line at the Ford Ironman Arizona in April. “I’ve been training in Maui with my coach Lance Watson from Lifesport for the last two weeks. The combination of my gains in fitness and the unbelievable fit and performance of my new SCOTT Plasma made it an easy decision for me to switch my plans from racing Ironman Coeur D’Alene in June to now focusing on Ironman Arizona. I feel so incredibly comfortable and powerful on my Plasma. It’s made all the difference in the world,” said Corbin.

“I’m truly honored to be working with a company like SCOTT Bikes. The first time I got on my new Plasma I felt as if it were made specifically for me. It’s incredibly light and responsive. Besides, SCOTT headquarters in Sun Valley is just a few hours away from my home in Missoula, Montana, so we already had somewhat of a local connection,” commented Corbin.
