Swisspowerteam.ch

The second race of the Swisspower Cup, held in Winterthur, Switzerland, was definitely in the hands of the Swisspower Mountain Bike Team. Florian Vogel and Nino Schurter were up front right from the beginning and extended their lead on every lap. Behind them, a fight for the third podium spot was taking place, which was finally won by Australian Daniel McConnel ahead of José Hermida. Lukas Flückiger and Ralph Näf dropped out.

Swiss National Champion Jürg Graf again showed brilliant form; after setting the pace front up in the early laps he finished seventh. Another great performance was put in by Patrik Gallati; until the middle of the race he stayed up front and at one point moved into seventh place, but he reached the end of his rope and had to drop out of the race. Till Marx got off to a good start, but was held back by a flat and ended up finishing 42nd.

Matthias Rupp took first in the junior category (Gibswil-Ried, Swisspower-Mountain Bike Team) ahead of Lukas Loretz (Langendorf, Scott Allianz), who is riding his first season in the junior category. Scott Allianz Team riders in the U23/Amateur category celebrated a major success: Thomas Litscher was second and Shlomy Haimy finished a brilliant third place.
