Cameron Brown second at Ironman Germany

Wonderful weather, 10,000 spectators and 1,842 competitors put the fever in Ironman Germany, held July 10 in Frankfurt. It turned out to be the longest day of the year for Cameron Brown. Competing with an ear infection, Brown gave his best. He finished the swim in second but dropped back to fourth place during the 180 km cycling leg. With a strong run, Brown climbed back into second place. “I tried everything I could to get close to (world champion) Normann Stadler, but the distance was simply too large. Still, I am overjoyed with my second place finish.” Stadler won the event, while Markus Forster of Germany was third.
