Vuelta: the mountain jersey is ours

The mountain jersey is ours.

Numbers confirm it: SAUNIER DUVAL-PRODIR took over the 2005 Vuelta a España mountain jersey. Joaquim Rodríguez earned the precious points he needed, as he was part of today's breakaway. Rodriguez has accumulated a total of 200 points, 34 ahead of second place in the mountain classification.

During the three weeks of the Vuelta, Rodriguez performed great and was brilliant on the climbs, so there´s no doubt he deserved to win the mountains jersey. This wouldn´t have been possible without the support of the entire team, a compact and motivated one indeed. Joaquim Rodríguez will don the mountains jersey on the final podium in Madrid.
