Tanner to compete in Red Bull Road Rage on a custom Sub 10
Sun Valley, ID, November 3, 2005 - Scott USA’s Todd Tanner has been selected to represent the company in the first ever Red Bull Road Rage downhill road race. The event was designed to place world-class riders from all disciplines together to determine who is the fastest descender on pavement in the world.
Tanner has chosen a modified version of the Scott SUB 10 as his tool for the race. SUB (Speed Utility Bicycle) series bicycles are suburban speed machines designed to use either 26” or 700 C wheels with disc brakes. They can also accommodate a rack and fenders without disc interference, although those features will not be utilized at the Road Rage. The combination of a super stiff alloy frame and long wheelbase produces a bike that is very stable at high speeds with nimble handling, while the use of disc brakes provides fade-free stopping power.
