Swisspowerteam's racing weapons
The season started with the first Swisspowercup in Schaan and the Sea Otter Classic is already behind us, so the next important race will be the first World Cup in Houffalize, Belgium. The athletes of Swisspowerteam, Thomas Frischknecht, Nino Schurter and Florian Vogel, are already in good shape and ready for the first World Cup adventure. Also, youngsters Patrick Gallati, Till Marx and Matthias Rupp showed good form in the two first races of Swisspowercup. But what's the reason for their successful start into the new season beside being in good shape?
The great support of the team management and mechanics are the main reasons, the other important one of course being the racing bikes the guys are riding. The best known Scale and the new Spark guarantees hi-end carbon technology and world lightest frames for the riders! In return the riders give us important feedback for future improvements and development.
Scale
Riders have trusted the Scale on fast courses for a long time. Lightweight, stiffness and durability are just some of the best racing features. Just 980 grams of carbon are be used for this frame, so the complete assembled bike weighs amazing 8.5 kg. As a special feature just for the athletes of the Swisspowerteam, the Scale frame is built with an integrated seat tube, not just for visible reasons, this solution also saves weight, 90 grams!
Spark
The brand new Spark is the lightest full suspension frame on earth. By using new IMP technology, the frame kit, including the shock, weighs just 1490 grams (Nude TC shock 240 grams)! The complete assembled bike weighs 9.5 kg, without special tuning and additional usage of lightweight material! The Spark also features the integrated seatpost which gives an amazing look to the bike beside shaving 90 grams off the frame weight too!
