2008 WEC in Portugal

Two weeks after the cold Swedish GP, WEC riders went down to Portugal excited for warm sunny conditions. What they got for the race was classic spring weather, sunny one moment and stormy the next.
A rough and slippery track welcomed riders on the first day. In the E2 class, Scott rider Juha Salminen finished second after an all day battle with French rider Johnny Aubert; Juha was a second behind Aubert at the finish.
In the E3 class, Scott riders Samuli Aro, Marko Tarkkala and Christophe Nambotin owned the day, placing first, second and fourth place respectively.

Juha Salminen

The second day was brutal for the WEC riders as torrential rains and hail made the course incredibly difficult.
Even in the tough conditions, Juha Salminen and Johnny Aubert ended up having another battle for the lead. Juha, with his great technical skill, managed to build a comfortable 30 seconds lead by the end of the race and won second day of the E2 class.
French rider Christophe Nambotin was victorious in the E3 class beating the dominate Samuli Aro, a great finish for Nambotin.
