Livia does it!

Twice finishing second and once finishing third overall in the FIM World Cup, Livia Lancelot finally got the title this weekend in Lierop. She is first women to hold the Woman’s Motocross World Champion title.

Livia Lancelot first ever Motocross Women World Champion

Preparing for the last two months by putting in countless laps on sand tracks, Livia significantly improved her sand riding. In the first moto, Steffi Laier was able to stay just ahead of Livia all the way to the checkered flag. Livia finished second. It looked as if they would finish in the same order in the second moto but Laier suffered a mechanical and Livia took over the lead. Livia was able to hold off the field to score not only a moto win but also an overall GP win and the Championship.

The men were also racing in Lierop. In the MX2 class, the KTM boys Rattray and Searle are still the ones to beat. Nicolas Aubin is back up to pace and took the third place with a (4/3) finish, he also is third in overall points.
In the MX1 class, home rider Marc de Reuver won the GP (1/3) while Max Nagl rode to a (5/2) finish netting him third overall.

The next stop in Fraenza, Italy is the final round and there both MX1 and MX2 title will be decided.
