Bicycling Magazine: Ransom Preview
Bicycling Magazines designates the Scott Ransom Limited the "Best Men's Mountain Bike" of Interbike. Scott's Ransom stole the show this year because it's more than just a pretty carbon bike (there were plenty of those). Rather, the Ransom is what we see all-mountain bikes becoming, with more travel, more adjustability, and less weight, achieved by using carbon frame technology borrowed from high-end road bikes. And there's no way to ignore Scott's innovative Equalizer TC shock with its remote handlebar-mounted travel and lockout control, and a speed-sensitive rebound circuit. It's not all show and no go, however. One of our lucky editors previewed it on an hour-long ride and, even though his test Ransom had preproduction shock settings, he returned with a grin on his face as bright as the lights on the Strip.-- Ron Koch Read the preview...
