FIS Boardercross World Cup, Sierra Nevada

The FIS Snowboard World Cup series finished off with a tough competition. Tanja Frieden from Switzerland not only proved her excellent shape but also her mental strength at a very exciting race in Sierra Nevada last weekend. She finished the boardercross in first place, leaving her competitors far behind, in front of two other Swiss racers; Sandra Frei (2nd) and Yvonne Müller (3rd). Mellie Francon (Team SCOTT Switzerland) finished the race in a respectable 10th position. Tanja was riding Scott's Nitrous snowboard, a carving model which was developed especially for boardercross and will be available in shops for winter 05/06.
