SCOTT Riders rise to new heights in World Tour Stop Two

There were great powder conditions today at the ski resort Krasnaya Polyana/Sochi in the Western Caucasus for the second stop of the Freeride World Tour (FWT). French Freeskier Seb Michaud (SCOTT Int.) and Drew Tabke (USA) tied for second behind winner Henrik Windstedt (SWE). Additional SCOTT International Teamriders Oscar Sosa (ARG / fourth place) and Tato Vasiuk (ARG / seventh place) and Snowboarder Cyril Neri (SUI / fourth place) completed a successful day for SCOTT riders in Russia.

SCOTT skier Elyse Saugstad is used to skiing big, which she confirmed today with a strong, fast and solid line. She started off jumping a cornice and executing a double jump in the middle of the run. "The contest conditions were perfect today, putting a good vibe among the competitors. The other girls were skiing really well, and I aimed to ski fluid and fast. It was a great face to ski on. The bottom half was maybe less extreme but a lot of work, that some might not have taken into enough consideration, which I took advantage of." Congrats to Elyse on her big win!

Seb Michaud and Henrik Windstedt now lead with 3800 points in the overall ranking of the FWT and automatically qualify with the top eight skiers and the top eight snowboarders for the Swatch & O'Neill BIG MOUNTAIN PRO 2008.

The second edition of the Big Mountain Pro will see 24 of the world's best snowboarders and skiers (16 qualified/eight wildcards) coming together for a competition like no other. Free to roam the European Alps on a search for optimum conditions, the event will embark on a eight day journey to crown the best freerider. The following additional SCOTT Riders will participate in the event: Freeskiers Estanislao Vasiuk (ARG), Phil Meier (SUI / Wildcard) and Snowboarders Cyril Neri (SUI) and Jeremy Jones (USA / Wildcard)
