Mellie Francon scores again
The next stop in the FIS World Cup boardercross calendar, after races in Korea, was Goju-Gifu, Japan. After winning the qualification rounds, Mellie Francon entered the difficult final heat. Once again, the top three women from the FIS world cup rankings were set to battle. Current leader Maelle Rickner, second place Lindsey Jacobellis and Zoe Gillings stood at the top, ready to challenge the Swiss. In a fast heat, Maelle Rickner and Zoe Gillings managed to take the top podium places, while Mellie Francon left Jacobellis behind and earned precious points in the race for the FIS World Cup title. SCOTT riders Sandra Frei and Tanja Frieden finished 8th and 9th respectively.
