Ueli Kestenholz & Tanja Frieden Rock at X Games VII in Aspen
The Boardercross finals at the X Games, held January 30, was a huge success for Scott USA's snowboarding team. The high speed, technical course featured plenty of jump sections linked by boardercross' trademark banked berms and an extra 100 feet of length. The challenging course promised an exciting and spectacular competition. Ueli Kestenholz put in a stellar performance, battling from the holeshot to the finish line to take the gold in front of Xavier Delerue (second) and Michael Rosengren (third).
The women's final proved to be one of the closest races in X Games history. Tanja Frieden fought her way to the front, dicing for the lead before getting passed at the finish line to place second, 0.29 seconds behind Lindsey Jacobellis. The bronze medal went to Yvonne Mueller.
