Tales from the Road - Erik Roner
Due to the lack of snow in the lower 48 I headed North to visit the Canadians. I made it for opening day at Blackcomb and skied some great snow. Whistler Blackcomb is off to another great start this season. The Alpine is not 100% open, which allowed us to hike all over the upper mountain and ski lines that are usually closed.

I went home to Tahoe for a few days and the temps were warm and dry. I saw people walking around in shorts and t-shirts ... depressing. I lasted a couple of days before I headed to Utah for the Alta/Snowbird openings.

It snowed over a foot the day before opening which helped the coverage out. The snow was sweet but still very thin. More snow is expected this week...we all need it!!
