Alex Schlopy spent New Year’s Eve in Crested Butte, Colorado with Scott

Alex:  At first I wasn’t sure about the set-up due to the ice coating on
top, but by comp time the park crew dialed the rail in and exterminated the
ice, making for some epic rails. Then it was our turn to give the crowd,
including Bill Murray, what they came to see. After the jam we waited around
in the sub zero temps for the judges to tally up the scores. Brandon and I
managed to take the top two spots. All in all it was a fun comp and I was
stoked to nail all the tricks I wanted, and to see Brandon slay the comp as
well. Over the next few days I'll be in Crested Butte's backcountry, then it
will be off to Breck to start training for the US Open.  Happy New Years!
