The Plasma2 was designed as the ultimate triathlon bike, and it posted the fastest bike split at the 2008 Ironman World Championship in Kona. Using our IMP5 technology, SCOTT engineers created an incredibly shaped, aerodynamic machine. Utilizing Shelter127™ with the Speed Skeg™ bottom bracket design, the Plasma2 provides 127 degrees of wheel shelter. The TwinTurbo™ aero carbon chainstays and integrated cable routing further reduce wind drag to an amazing 4.952 Newtons, the lowest drag of any wind tunnel tested triathlon bike.
-
IMP5™
Our most sophisticated carbon structure ever. The toptube, headtube, downtube, seat tube and chainstays are all produced in a single step using IMP5. Each layer is still carefully managed to rid the structure of any voids or folds in the material.
-
Shelter127™
Shelter127™ is a measurement of the wheel coverage of both front and rear wheels. The rear has 80º of coverage and the front has 47º, the total coverage is 127º of wind-cheating aerodynamics.
-
TwinTurbo™ Chainstays
The TwinTurbo™ chainstays are only as wide as the bottom bracket until they flare out to meet the rear dropout. They are ultra narrow and reduce wind drag on the frame. The also feature an alloy replaceable derailleur hanger and a wheel position adjustment screw to minimize frame to rear wheel separation.
-
Integrated Cable Routing
The front and rear derailleur as well as the brake cable are all internally routed to improve aerodynamics. There is cable access from inside the bottom bracket shell as well as the chainstay for convenience.
-
Adjustable Seat Tube Angle
The new Ritchey adjustable seat post clamp allows for adjustment between 73-80º of seat tube angle. Good for TT, good for Triathlon.
-
Integrated Carbon Fork
The drag-reducing integrated fork/frame design is ultra clean and matches the frame profile precisely.
